About Jeremy Villasis Photography
I was born and raised in Tuguegarao City, a province in the northern Philippines. For university, I moved to Manila, the country's busy capital, where I got my bachelor's degree in Communication Arts.
It took several years for me to realize that my true passion lies in photography. Because I have been traveling for years – I have a love affair with the countries of Asia – it made sense that my photography features the images of the places I explore, the people I meet and the adventures I encounter.
My work has appeared in several publications, both local and international. These include AsiaNews Magazine, The Bangkok Post, ASIAN Geographic, New Internationalist, TRAVELife, Leisure +Adventure (formerly LifestyleAsia TRAVEL), UNESCO World Heritage, and Mabuhay (Philippine Airlines' inflight magazine). Two coffee table books have featured my work as well: Treasures of The Dragon: Showcasing the Jewels of Asia and the Middle East and Buddhas.

My photographs have been exhibited in Rome, Kiev and Manila. I have also licensed Getty Images to represent me for several of my photos.
In the beginning, most of my photography skills were self-taught, later on honing them under the instruction of several teachers. In 2009, I was mentored by Jonathan Taylor of the Photography School Asia in Bangkok, Thailand. In May 2011, I completed my Photojournalism Degree at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines.
